Southtech (Roading)

Council's roading service is dedicated to providing an effective, efficient, well managed and safe District roading network. Unlike most rural areas of New Zealand, almost all the rural roads in the South Waikato District are sealed.

Physical objects on footpath (businesses)

Any physical objects to be used or displayed on the footpath need a permit to ensure the safety of pedestrians. These objects include umbrellas, tables, chairs, barriers and signs. The permit is free of charge. An application to occupy footpath needs to be filled out and submitted to Council.

Application to Occupy Footpath

beforeUdig

Local Authorities (Councils) require any person intending to dig in the Road Corridor to apply for and have approved prior to the commencement of works, a Road Opening Notice.

To date, the requirement to apply for a RON (Road Opening notice) has been a separate process to the requesting of plans and locates services via the beforeUdig service.
